Fall Baby Beanie Crochet Pattern FREE (0-3 / 3-6 / 6-12 months)
The combination of warm autumn colors and cozy, textured front-post stitches featured in this design makes it the perfect crochet fall baby beanie.
From the outside, the design seems smooth and uniform in appearance. But it’s the inside of the hat that makes it so special!
Front-post stitches throughout the pattern form ridges along the inside of the hat. These ridges form small pockets that help trap warmth, keeping tiny noggins warm on those chilly fall days.

- Knowledge of FPdc sts is helpful.
Refer to the image included in this section [below] for assistance with FPdc sts. - Pattern is written for a two-color beanie (main color + accent color).
If you prefer a multicolor beanie, I recommend changing to the new color on the last YO of the last st of the round. - Since Rounds 1-4 are worked exactly the same for all three sizes, photos are only included in size 0-3 Months.
If you get stuck on any size, please just let me know. I’m happy to help! 😉 - The brim is worked the same for all sizes. Once you reach the final round of your beanie of choice, refer to the end of this post to complete the brim.

Brim (All Sizes):
Switch to size 4.5 mm hook. Continue with working yarn from the last round.
- With size 4.5mm crochet hook, ch 7. Sc BLO in 2nd ch from hook and in the next 5 sts. (6 total sts). Sl st into the next 2 available sts on the base of the hat. Turn.
*Note: It may be helpful to go ahead & place a st marker in the front loops of the first and last sts of the first row. This will mark the first row of the brim & will assist in seaming the ends together.
- Skipping over the 2 sl sts just made on the base of the hat, sc BLO in the next 5 sts created in the last row, then sc into both loops of the last st. Ch 1. Turn.
- Sc into both loops of the first st, sc BLO in next 5 sts, sl st into the next 2 available sts on the base of the hat. Turn.
- Skipping over the 2 sl sts just made on the base of the hat, sc BLO in next 5 sts created in the last row, then sc into both loops of the last st. Ch 1. Turn.
- Rep Rows 3-4 you reach the last row of the brim.
- Sc into both loops of the first st, sc BLO in next 5 sts, sl st to the final st left on the base of the hat.
- Turn your work so that the inside of the brim is facing you. Do not chain. Line up the two ends of the brim (right sides together, wrong sides facing out) and join all 6 sts of both sides with sl sts.
*Note: This is where the st markers from the first row come in handy. When slip stitching, go under the BLO in sts along the final row & under the single front loops left from the beg chain.
FO & weave in ends.
